at least cats luv iPads

So the newest piece of technology causing widespread flame wars and arguments on the interwebs is the Apple iPad. Everyone has their own unique opinion on it, and while other people probably have more well researched opinions than me, my personal opinion is as follows.

It sucks. You can't type with it on the go in any comfortable way. Imagine trying to make your way through a crowded subway with a giant clunk of metal in your hand, held precariously by your fingers on the side since there is no other way to grip the piece of crap, and trying to type with the fingers on one hand. So slow. It's impractical and expensive, and will probably end up being more like the Macbook Air than it is like the iPhone.

There is one positive with the iPad though, cats ruv dem! There has been a tremendous outpouring of kitty support for the enlarged screen of the iPad, which can serve as a virtual playground for the cats by offering them a little moving animation that can respond to the touch of their warm wittle paws. Cat love chasing around virtual mice and playing with little pixels of string, almost as much as humans love watching their little feline friends' heads curiously bob back and forth. But again this only works with the iPad on a flat surface, and it's not like there is any need for cats to send business documents, so really the iPad still sucks for humans, but rocks the fancy out of cats. Man, just think what cats would do with a Microsoft Surface or an HP Touchsmart on the table (accepting all donations for my kitty *cough* ASHTON *cough*)

Friends with Cats: Kristin

Today, I will retaliate against Kristin's hate filled facebook status from two nights ago where she dared typing this. 

Kristin Davis wants a puppy >.<

Totally not cool. Not to mention what the kitty overlord will probably do to you, but you will now suffer from the wrath of being ranted at on my blog. 

Kristin knows she wants a cute kitty, but had a momentary lapse on facebook. Probably because she was drunk. Or too busy shifting through yesstyle cat hoodies and wanted a change of pace. But seriously, why the fuck would anyone want a change of pace from those cute little buggers called kitties. I know Kristin has seen kitties and been around kitties long enough to know how awesome they are.

Look at this picture I found of Kristin going out of her way to pose with a neighborhood cat, her only friend on those dark cold nights living alone. Kristin went all up near the cat's grill and was probably even contemplating some thievery, since all cats are so cute you just want to have them for yourself. There's no doubt that Kristin wants to be BFF with the cat, but the cat's all like "rawr, i'mma rub my facez on dis windao" TOTALLY IGNORED KDAVIS. Better luck next time, but no need to go out and write such a hateful statement. There is no need to blatantly display your minimal wanting for a puppy, when you have such overt and insatiable desire for cats, kitties, lolcats, and cat-themed blogs.  My only question to you is what were you thinking?

Kyle is President

Kyle unanimously won approval today at the SASE meeting, becoming the next president of UT's SASE. Unfortunately, he did not give a speech, since he didn't really need to. Later on, there will be the other officer elections, which will get pretty heated as we will compete to get positions ranging from VP Finance to VP Internal to chai wallah (thanks sush). Hopefully, next year SASE will be better than ever!

Friends with Cats: Kyle's SASE Edition

Kyle has been a dedicated member of SASE since its inception last year and today is the presidential election for Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), and Kyle would truly appreciate your vote for president. His platform is based on growing SASE through new volunteering efforts and an increased identification with the larger Asian-American population here on campus. Kyle himself is not "Asian", but he loves all the things that I love, including manga, Asian girls, and, of course, engineering! He will be a great president and lead the SASE into a better second year here on campus at the University of Texas at Austin. The vote is tonight at 6pm in RLM 7.114, so come out and vote for him!



This blog is still about cats, and this is the only picture that I could find with Kyle and a cat. I promise it's legitimate and completely unaltered, as is Kyle. This is also in line with our series of people posing with cats. Enjoy!

Cat Show in Mesquite

This weekend, the Cat Fancier's Association is hosting yet another one of their numerous cat shows. It's going to be in Mesquite, TX - which is right by Dallas. Check it out if you guys can, I know I can't because of school and on account of the fact that no one can take me to Dallas. The Cat Fancier's Association show is usually pretty nice, as they have been around for a while and they are a nationally organized association.


The cat above is their BEST CAT winner for the 2008-2009 show season, which I personally do not like that much. So if any of you are interested, enter your cat into the competition and maybe you'll win!

So I will be starting the first official "thing" for this blog. It's just going to be pictures of people I know with a cat. I have no idea if they actually own the cat, nor do I care, but the fact that so many of my friends go giggly for cats is super cool.

If any of you who I put on this site find it creepy that I jacked a photo of you off facebook with a cat, please just tell me and I'll take it off.
